Well here we go. Halloween last night and a little frost on the pumpkin this morning. In the past three years there has been a movement to elevate the awareness of Prostate Cancer.
The project is for men to grow a mustache during the month of November … now called Movember… to raise awareness and funds.
Now I am not like some men who grow a stache in two days…but I am in for the cause. Anyone with fair hair and complexion know my situation but I will give it the old college try.
Why the awareness? 1 out of 2 men will fight cancer in their life. Every 2.7 minutes a man will be diagnosed with prostate cancer…almost 25,000 Canadians this year alone.
So come on Bro …grow a Mo. Google Movember Canada for mo info.
The idea for Movember was sparked in 2003 over a few beers in Melbourne, Australia. The plan was simple – to bring the moustache back as a bit of a joke and do something for men’s health. No money was raised in 2003, but the guys behind the Mo realized the potential a moustache had in generating conversations about men’s health.
With increasing the level of awareness by MO…ing it up it promotes a discussion not only on those that have prostate issues but it hopefully promotes the prevention side of the equation.
Following the Five Pillars of Health and Wellness goes a long way toward prevention. Those pillars are 1/ Properly functioning nervous system 2/ Proper Nutrition 3/ Proper Exercise 4/ Proper Rest 5/ Proper Mental Attitude.
To learn more about the specifics of supplements and other preventative approaches plan to attend an in-house Workshop.
